Andrew Powell

Developing applications, both desktop and web-based for over ten years, Andrew Powell is a leader in the RIA community. He is an expert in a strong variety of technologies with a heavy focus on helping clients extract the most value from Adobe?s suite of tools. Initially a Java developer, he has branched out and become an expert in Flex, ColdFusion, and AJAX. Recently, he has begun branching exploring how Java tools like Hibernate and Spring can enhance ColdFusion and Flex powered RIAs.

Graduating from Mercer University with a BBA in Computer Information Systems, Finance, and Management, Mr. Powell brings a business acumen to clients and their situations that is rarely seen in consultants these days. These skills allow him to help clients assess the enterprise-wide impact of Rich Enterprise Applications (REA) with a strong focus on the client?s bottom line.

As a member of Universal Mind?s team and an Adobe Community Expert, he provides training, development, performance analysis and tuning, and incident resolution services across a wide array of technologies. He also speaks nationally and internationally as a representative of Universal Mind on many RIA-centered topics such as Flex, AJAX, ColdFusion, and Java.

Mr. Powell resides in Marietta, Georgia with his wife and two daughters.
